Programs offered at Bright Beginnings Child Care and Learning Center.
Infant class: 6 weeks to approximately 1 ½ years.
Infants need consistency, safety, and comfort. So in this class we make sure to provide all three. They are in a nurturing and loving environment, in which they are frequently interacted with and have all their needs met immediately. Our age-appropriate toys and activities help in their growing process. In this relaxed environment babies are allowed to develop at their own rate. Children's routines are carefully documented and provided to parents each day. Parents, including nursing mothers, of course, are welcome to visit at any time.
Toddler class: 18 months to approximately 2 1/2 years
This classroom provides age appropriate activities and equipment for these active little ones. Child sized furniture and a nurturing atmosphere help them feel at ease. In addition to having a fun time, they will also be guided to some of their first learning experiences, such as in the areas of language acquisition, problem solving, social interaction, self-help skills and physical developmental milestones. They are treated individually, as their levels of physical, emotional, and mental development vary from child to child. Potty training will be encouraged, but only with those who are ready for it. In addition, they will enjoy everything from blocks to books, to pretend kitchens to dress up areas.
Pre-School Class: Approximately 2 1/2 to 4 years
This classroom provides a great variety of activities in many areas of learning and play. Many important learning skills are introduced and many experiences are presented to them. Some of these include science, math, music, language, and art, among others. There is a strong focus placed on learning of basic social and living skills. Children are taught to work together andproblem solve effectively.
Pre-Kindergarten: 4 to 6 years
This class provides a little more challenging environment for those future kindergarteners. Though the basic concepts in this class are similar to that of the Pre-School class, the kids do focus a little more on things that will be important for them to know for kindergarten, such as math, science, language, name writing, problem solving, and working well with others. As always we understand that all children develop at different rates, so each child will be given all the time they need to develop their individual skills. Each lesson will be taught in a new and exciting way as to stimulate their minds, so they retain as much of the information as possible.
